The ability to fly comes from the donations made by Americans who appreciate our World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans.
A veteran -- whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to The " United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
The trip costs the veterans nothing; they have already paid with their outstanding service to our nation.
It takes about $62,000 for each flight in 2017.
|Chartered Southwest Airlines 737||$49,000|
|Food and snacks||2,800|
|Park Police Escort||1,350|
|Commemorative T-shirt, challenge coin||1,700|
|Printing, postage, and related costs||2,000|
|Average flight total cost||$61,960|

Trips are funded by donations from people like you who understand that we are running out of time to honor these heroes! All the effort and work to get Central Ohio veterans to their memorials is done by volunteers. Honor Flight Columbus has no paid staff. This hard work is done out of admiration for these men and women.

Honor Flight Columbus accepts some in-kind donations. Used wheelchairs are a good example. We take about 60 wheelchairs on each flight. All of our chairs are donated. If you have a manual chair that you aren't using, please consider donating it to us. Chairs should be serviceable and have a minimum seat width of 18 inches. We also appreciate foot rests and any spare arm rests donors may have.
Call us at 614-284-4987 to arrange a time you can drop off your donated chair at our office in Grandview, or to discuss other possible in-kind donations.
Honor Flight Columbus is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Code and donations are tax-deductible.
